Blue Double Up White

Well I wasn't able to attend the game, so all I can do is provide a summary, mostly thoughts on the out come.

As they say, what goes around, comes around. Last year the White doubled up the score on the Blue by a curiously similar six to three tally. That ledger evens out as this year the Blue turned the tables, putting six on the board before the night was through.

Sauer didn't exactly have a great night, so instead of calming the detractors and giving encouragement to those that hope Sauer will take a step up, the grumbling about Sauer in net just got louder and things got a bit dimmer for those hoping he would step forward and become a consistent net minder.

The line of Turnbull, Hagelin, and Caporusso had a heck of a night, with Turnbull scoring the hat trick, adding on an assist for good measure, Hagelin had a goal and three assists, while Caporusso contributed with three assists.

The initial top line of Porter, Kolarik, and Pacioretty also accounted for three goals, but they were for the White. With a total of nine goals being scored by both teams it looks like Michigan won't be losing much in the scoring department. It sounds like the defense has a bit of a ways to go.

The Blue team used two club team goalies to out dual Sauer. With Hogan out with mono and Hunwick also down with some illness last night, we only got to see Sauer, and well, that didn't help any of us.

So as expected not a lot learned except that perhaps we'll not see quite the drop off in offensive output that was somewhat expected given the players leaving. Now they just need to grow up and grow into a team really fast. After Sunday nights game against visiting Western Ontario the Wolverines run smack dab into last years national runner up and this years number two ranked team in the nation, Boston College.
