White Buries Blue
Saturday, October 1, 2005 Yost Ice Arena, Ann Arbor, Michigan
These intra-squad scrimmages often end up fairly close, but not this year as the
White team simply blew the Blue team off the ice, at least as far as the scoreboard
was concerned. The shots on goal were pretty even (thirty-one to twenty-eight in favor
of the White team), but the White team was able to find the back of the net far more
than the Blue. I wasn't in attendance for this game so I'm pretty much just going to
include a summary of the scoring and shots by period.
First period:
At 6:18 of the first Tyler Swystun scored the first goal of the game for the White team
with an assist going to Ebbett.
At 7:45 Tim Miller extended the White lead by scoring their second goal of the night.
The lone assist on this goal went to Travis Turnbull.
With just one second left in the opening period Danny Fardig socred the Whilte teams
third goal with assits going to Miller and Scott Jewet.
At the end of the first period of play the White team had a sixteen to fourteen edge
in shots on goal.
At 2:16 of the second the White team added their fourth goal of the game when Kaleniecki
found the back of the net. Ebbett picked up the lone asist
Travis Turnbull picked up the White teams fifth goal of the game, unassisted, at the
11:01 mark of the second period.
At 17:40 Kaleniecki wrapped up the scoring for the period when he scored the White
teams sixth goal of the game. Assists when to Dest and Cook.
While the White team was the only one to score in the second period, the Blue team
actually out shote them ten to seven. That left the Blue team with a twenty-four to
twenty-three advantage in shots on goal through two periods of play.
The White team jumped out early in the third when Ebbett scored goal number
seven at the 2:00 minute mark. Assists went to Cook and Dest.
The White team wrapped up their scoring with goal number eight at 6:08 when Travis
Turnbull found the back of the net for the second time in the game. Tim Miller
picked up the lone assist.
At 11:30 the Blue team finally got on the board when Kolarik found the back of
net to break the scoreless drought. Assists went to Hensick and Zac McVoy.
At 18:50 the Blue team scored their second and the games last goal when Porter
found the net. Andrew Cogliano and Hensick each picked up an assist.
The White team out shot the Blue team eight to four in the period, leaving the
White team with a thirty-one to twenty-eight advantage in shots on goal.
